How to buy Pokémon cards
A simple path for beginners: learn the sealed jargon, decide what you want, research prices on PokeGoTo, then browse live listings — singles, graded slabs, and sealed product.
What you can buy
Most collectors shop three buckets: singles (individual cards), graded slabs (PSA, CGC, and other professionally graded cards), and sealed product — factory-sealed packs and boxes that have not been opened.

What “sealed” means
Sealed means the product is still factory-wrapped (or in its original sealed packaging). Collectors buy sealed to open later, keep as a display piece, or hold long-term. Singles and slabs are the opposite: the cards are already out of the pack.
Below are the sealed types beginners see most often. Pack counts are for typical modern English Pokémon TCG retail — vintage sets, Japanese product, and special collections can differ, so always read the listing.
Booster Pack
Browse Booster Packs →The basic sealed pack of random cards from a set. This is what collectors open one at a time, or what fills boxes and ETBs.
Typically: Modern English Scarlet & Violet–era packs usually contain 10 cards. Older eras and Japanese packs can differ — check the listing.
Booster Box
Browse Booster Boxes →A sealed case of booster packs for one set — the classic “buy the whole print run slice” product for rip-and-ship or long-term sealed collecting.
Typically: Modern English booster boxes usually hold 36 packs (so roughly 360 cards if every pack is 10 cards). Japanese boxes and some special products use different pack counts.
Booster Bundle(sometimes called a mini box)
Browse Booster Bundles →A shrink-wrapped multi-pack without the full cardboard booster-box shell — a smaller sealed buy than a box, larger than a single pack.
Typically: Modern English booster bundles usually contain 6 packs. Handy if you want sealed product without committing to a full box.
Elite Trainer Box(ETB)
Browse Elite Trainer Boxes →A themed sealed kit: booster packs plus play accessories (often dice, damage counters, sleeves, a player’s guide, and a box that doubles as storage).
Typically: Standard modern English ETBs usually include 9 booster packs plus accessories. Special or premium ETBs may include more packs — read the product description.

Research prices first
Before you spend, look up the card or product. Browse Pokémon TCG sets for checklists and grade prices, or use search from the header to jump straight to a card page with history and liquidity where available.
Saving cards to your collection or buy list helps you track targets without rushing a purchase.
Browse live listings
When you are ready to look at real offers, open Shop for live eBay picks, singles, and slabs, or open a sealed type under Sealed products for listings filtered to that product.
Always read the listing title, photos, and seller details — prices and condition can vary a lot even for the same product name. For sealed, confirm pack count and that the wrap looks intact.
After you buy
